New Storage Proposal
What
We will be having a trial run of a new storage management solution in the General Area (Neverland) It's a managed service that allows you to use your fob to gain temporary storage for free (just like it's always been) with the inclusion of the ability to purchase some of the slots just like you do any of the member storage. The general idea is that we have many places it's ok to temporarily store your project and if you need more time and you'll be away or whatever you can purchase the spot. Some spaces will have different time allotments. Like the nice spots that are at eye level will be good places to store projects that are hard to put up high on a shelf will have 24hr or 3day or whatever we decide and slots that are higher up and harder to reach will have 1 week or something as these spots are less desirable. The intent is that this will be hooked into our member management system (Wild Apricot) so there can be emails sent out when times are about to expire and other valuable information that may be desired.
Locker states
- Purple: Owned member storage
- Blue: Temporary Storage
- Green: Vacant
Choosing Lockers is done though a web gui that will be available through qr code and link or some kind of screen at each location. Fobs will determine identity
Why
- Green Tickets are hard for area hosts and others to manage and many people abuse the privilege
- We are gaining many new members and think it's best to have solutions that are self service
- Managing member storage and reconciling spaces has always been difficult
- Lights are pretty
