Photoshop use: from the File menu, select Import > WIA Support
 
Follow dialog to scan the item on the bed of the scanner.

You can scan from an "acquire" action from within Photoshop, or by just using the "Scan" button on the front of the scanner once it's been turned on and connected.
 
There is some software installed, Visioneer OneTouch 4.6, on the Artastic computer upstairs, connected to the scanner.
