Intro to PS1

We're in the new lounge for our first member meeting!

Introductions

New People

New People (name - where did you hear about us - what do you make/hack)

• Jim | CNC business for 30+ years | interested in tig welding and making art | found us on the internet
• Sidney | makes products for people with disabilities | found us on Google
• Chris | brought by Andy L | looking to learn welding
• Jeff | looking for an electronics hobby club, got table-making, used to build radio shack kits | searched for electronics club
• Sam | woodworking & metal fabrication | learned about through Gene
• Andrew | electrical work, electrical engineering | interested in woodworking and furniture | learned about us from an uber trip
• Max | has been doing CNC work at Harold Washington | works at Museum of Science and Industry, found us through there and library
• Ed | bikes and stuff | friend of afriend
• Chris | electronics, cnc, 3D printing | learned about from Drew

Things that need doing around the space

• Tables in the dock need to get built and distributed throughout the space
  • Make all the tables and replace the plastic tables with metals (we've got legs for ~12 and tops for about ~20)
• Ducting for the new woodshop dust collection - take down the ducting from the boiler room area
• PVC pipe armature paint booth type thing near metals should get disassembled
• Andy L brought a fan to build a spray area - just needs some plywood enclosure to help seal it off
  • There a number of spray booth projects in the thinking stage
  • Once hot metals gets moved, spray booth can happen
• Check and empty the dust collection often
• Emergency light systems need finishing
• Bar and most of the stuff from lounge need to move to lounge 2.0
  • Anything that's not for the new CNC area should move
• An has a dart board that needs a backboard. How can he mount it onto the wall
• Clean up after yourself
• The fridge needs cleaning - something spilled
• Rinse out cans and bottles before recycling
• Space DNS or something needs fixin'

• Brian for helping Shellie with a sewing
• People who set up the new lounge tables (Jeff, Kevin, Will, and An and Justin and Lyn)

  • All cloth welding jackets getting washed

• Bioguy is looking for an Ionic Breeze purifier, trying to turn one into a turbocharger for the racing car
• Bike night - tomorrow night, 8 pm
• CNC build club - Thursday
• IMTS - Internation Manufacturing Technology Show is in September
  • Does anybody know if there's anybody giving away comp badges?
• Knitting Machine Passap Demo - Friday at 5 pm
• Sunday 1-4 pm -Market Sunday - barter or give away your things, don't leave them here!
