| Ryan Pierce runs [[Leica S430 Scanning Electron Microscope|SEM]] user authorizations which consist of a 3 hour group lecture (watch the mailing list, he tries to schedule these at varying times monthly) after which you must schedule a 1 1/2 hour slot with him for hands on individual instruction. Users completing this will be authorized to use the SEM to view samples already in the sample chamber. Ryan can work with users to prepare samples which users can view. Additional advanced authorizations (sample prep, EDX analysis, critical point drying) are in the works.

| The [[Shopbot PRS CNC router]] certifications are generally run as classes with a capped number of people who can attend. They are not taught very frequently and there is usually a wait list as they fill up very quickly in a first come first serve basis when they are announced. Watch the [http://pumpingstationone.org/contact-2/ member's mailing list] for announcements of classes. If no class has happened for some time, you should post to the member's list asking when the next certification is, but first search for a current thread on the mailing list, so as to avoid duplicating conversations. The class will normally last several hours.
